The Greatest Gift
By Jessica Alexa Bayonito

How is it that Christmas is different
Now, than it is like before?
All I know were food, drinks and parties
And beautiful presents from the stores

Wrappers no longer excite me
And ribbons have lost their charm
No gift ever truly satisfied me
Though they cost a leg and an arm

So I sat down one day and remembered
The true story of Christmas day
There's no reindeer, nor elves nor Santa Claus
Just a Child in a manger with hay

He came, with no pomp nor commotion
There He lay, as humble as can be
The Lord became such a tiny, tiny human
For one day, He'll save sinners like me.

All along I thought I was doing great
'Till I saw the depths of my sin
Now I understand why the angels sing "Gloria!"
For this Child is the Savior King!

Now I know this Christmas will be different
For He is the reason, after all
He's my Gift, wrapped in swaddling clothes
because it's Jesus, the greatest Gift of all.

A Song of Gratitude
By  Jessica Alexa Bayonito

Thank You for the life, my Lord
That I live to see today
Thank You for the air I breathe
And the wakefulness to say:

Thank You Lord for my eyes that see
and the hearing in my ears
Thank You Lord, that You are God
Who shatters all my fears

Thank You Lord, that though I'm weak
With Your strength I'm standing strong
And even in my days of doubt
You're still with me all along.

I praise Your name, Lord Jesus Christ
For You died to set me free
And thank You for Your message of love
For all the world to see

Thank You Lord for the fount of courage
And the grace to make it through
I'm saved through faith in You, Lord Jesus
I am nothing without You.

I thank You Lord, for everyday
And all the things You do
But most of all, Lord God most High
I'm thankful I have You.

What is...
By Jessica Alexa Bayonito

What is spring without water?
What is a vineyard with no vine?
What is life without You, Lord Jesus,
Without Your heart in mine?

I am but a dry, parched wasteland
Who longs for the pour of rain
My cries at night are worthless
My labors are in vain

The enemy tried to kill me
To blind me with his lies
To quench the fire inside me
Right in front of my eyes

But Jesus, You came to give me life
A life to live in full
A hope to life eternal
In a world so sad and cruel

So I will choose Your way, My Lord
I'll hold on to what's proven true
Who am I without You, Jesus?
And what is life without You?

You Care For Me
By Jessica Alexa Bayonito

You went from God to man, in all humility
You came so in darkness we'll find a way to flee
You came down from Heaven so I'd be set free
You came for me, Jesus. You came here for me

You chased down my heart, no matter what the
cost
You are my way back so I won't be lost
You found me, Lord Jesus, when I thought I'd
never be
You came for me, Jesus. You came here for me

You've taken the bruises, the hurt and the pain
You've taken the torture so I won't have to again
You gave up Your life on the hill of Calvary
You died for me, Jesus. You died here for me

You've conquered and won, death has lost its
sting
There's no one who's greater than our Risen King
One day You'll come back, Lord, in glory for all to
see
I'll wait for You, Jesus. You'll come back again for
me!

From the Warzone: The Princess's Letter
By: Jessica Alexa Bayonito

Will someone ever love a woman such as I?
With wounds in my arms and tears in my eyes?
Time has passed by, oh how long will it be
'Til the prince of my dreams comes to me?

When will the springtime finally start
A blossoming season with this war-seasoned heart?
'Til when will I wait for a virtuous man
to fight the good fight with me to the end?

I'm reminded to hope on my Father on High
Who hears my every breath and every sigh
He has chosen the best for me, that's true
So I pray, O Lord, let me stand firm with You.

Prepare my heart, Lord, for your chosen prince
You know I have prayed for him ever since
As for now, let me serve you, my God, King and Father
For faithful You are, and faithful You'll be forever.

To you, young man that the Lord did choose
I promise to stand with you, should we win or we lose
Until then, my sweet prince! I shall see you in stride
And I hope to fight this battle with you by my side.

 The Writer

by Jessica Alexa Bayonito

I can write all day about you
And I hope my pen won't mind
For the words keep flowing in my head
And the rhymes rush deep inside

I can write all day about you
And I'd go for miles and miles
How the sunlight bounces off your checks
When you smile your brightest smile

I can write all day about you
How our souls just harmonize
And how I see a supernova
When I look into your eyes

I can write all day about you
And no, it's more than fiction
They can tell me that, but I know it's more
Than just mere imagination

I can write all day about you
But the story's still incomplete
'Cause I'm writing about you
And you're someone I've yet to meet.
